Tusshar’s finally hit by reality

Tusshar KapoorTusshar Kapoor is pleased as a punch. Not because he’s got his hands full with over six movies. But the actor, who’s been looking at breaking his image of a ’sweet boy’, will play his first gangster role. Kapoor’s character in the Sanjay Gupta-produced ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’ is the onscreen avatar of the dreaded Dawood Ibrahim aide Dilip Bua, who was shot in an encounter in Mumbai’s Lokhandwala vicinity by the then ACP Aftaab Ahmed Khan.

“It’s my first realistic role. Obviously it is special and means a lot to me. But as an actor, I want to give it my own twist. Maybe to make it look more real, I will prepare myself by watching a lot of gangster movies,” says Kapoor. He also plans to undergo personal training sessions.

“This role will shatter my current onscreen image - it will give me a whole new perspective,” says Kapoor. He will also undergo physical changes for the character. “I will have to behave and act like a gangster. So that means that I will have to change my looks too,” he adds.

Meanwhile, his other film, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal’ is ready for release. “It has shaped up extremely well. The film is about these four wastrels and how they end up in funny and strange situations. My role is that of a mute guy. It was a challenging experience for me,” he says.

Kapoor has also been signed up for Anant Mahadevan’s ‘Agar’. “It is a thriller and I play an event management company owner. It is about this guy who fights his own destiny,” says Kapoor, who will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s next film, besides a Satish Kaushik film produced by his own banner.
