Shocking coincidences for Saif Ali Khan
Coincidences can sometimes be really shocking in Bollywood. Like Saif Ali Khan says, “Mom (Sharmila Tagore) and I were discussing Shakespeare and she said I should do a movie on one of Shakespeare’s plays. She said that I should do either Hamlet or Othello. And the next day I got a call to work in Vishal’s interpretation of Othello. However, they wanted me to play Iago. I was not so keen on Iago, until he read out the first scene and it was like a western movie. It was so well written. I just agreed on the basis of that first scene! It was a very close adaptation of the original in movement and character.” Not to forget that most of Shakespeare’s plays revolve around coincidences.
