It’s one thing to have someone pulling your leg on screen and quite another to have them do the same thing off screen. And Sameera Reddy had a taste of both recently. Apparently, Vivek Oberoi enjoys playing pranks on Sameeera on the sets of their film Naksha, and keeps teasing her whenever he gets a chance. Even while Sam was bearing the brunt of his jokes, she was asked to act in a song where Vivek’s character mistakes her for a strip dancer and keeps misbehaving with her and teasing her throughout the song. Of course, the song ends with Oberoi realising his mistake because Sameera is actually a journalist in the film. Though she escapes on screen, whether she will get some respite off screen, only Vivek’s prankster skills will tell!

Often, even when they’re the best of friends offscreen, actors are required to pretend to be sworn enemies on screen. And Sameera Reddy and Vivek Oberoi were faced with a similar situation recently. “Vivek is a friend and he was a lot of fun to work with,” says Sameera. “We actually had a blast on the sets as well as off the sets. It was almost like I was working with a good friend of mine and not just a co-actor. The role demanded that we should be fighting with each other throughout the film and we actually had a lot of fun doing those scenes. Vivek is an intense actor who prepares a lot and that worked for many scenes.” Now, it remains to be seen how this combination of ‘war and peace’ works for the film too!

Few actors are willing to do their own stunts, but Sameera Reddy is one of the daring minority. The actor, who is known to do her own stunts, was initially quite scared when she learnt that she had to do a 100 feet drop into nothingness from a high plateau in Mahabaleshwar. But it was Vivek Oberoi, her co-star, who encouraged her to go ahead. That apparently gave Sameera the courage to take the plunge. And the breathtaking scene, of course, will be there for all to watch when Naksha releases!
