Rani’s new love caught on cellphone!

Rani MukherjeeRani Mukherjee has a new love in her life. And if you really get lucky, you’ll get to see a picture of this ‘love’ on her cell too. It’s her newborn niece, who the family has named Myisha - an Arabic-Persian name - that means peace. For the lovely Rani, suddenly movies, friends and costars have all taken a backseat; all she loves to talk about these days is the baby. And whenever she gets a chance, she peeks into her cell phone to take a look at the baby’s pictures. And she loves showing it to her buddies too. “She looks like Raja, doesn’t she?” Rani asks. Well, the bundle of joy may grow up into another gorgeous Rani, who knows?

Rani and Preity make a pretty picture

Much has been spoken about the apparent Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta camaraderie and their socalled friendship-turning-sour. Of course, the lovely ladies have given their version too - now whether everyone believes it or not is another story. But if one were to spend some time on the sets of Karan Johar’s Kabhie Alvida Naa Kehna, they’ll know for themselves. Both actors are seen chatting away with each other and there seem to be no negative vibes between them at all. Now whether this is Karan’s magic we don’t know, but it did make a pretty picture. Like all Karan Johar movies do!

Rani Mukherjee love to spend time with family

Rani MukherjeeShe’s one of the busiest stars in Bollywood today and that explains why Rani Mukherjee wishes there were more than 24 hours in a day. “There is just so much to do and never enough time. There are times when I wish that there were 36 or 48 hours in a day,” she laughs. But what would she do if her wish did come true? “Oh, I’d work more,” says the workaholic, adding, “I’d also spend more time playing with my niece Mishti.”

Talking about time, Rani has added another product to her list of endorsements. She joins Aamir Khan as an ambassador for Titan, only she will be promoting women’s watches for the brand. Her reason for signing on? “My father had gifted me a Titan watch after I completed Class 10, so I guess there is an emotional connect of some sort.”

In an industry where everything happens on BST (Bollywood Standard Time - at least two hours behind the scheduled time), how punctual is she? “Quite punctual actually, but there are times when I just can’t help it. Sometimes one gets delayed because of another person or because a shot needs to be completed.” That explains why Rani doesn’t get too bothered if someone else is late. “People have reasons…”

On the movies front, Rani has a release coming up in August and it’s a Karan Johar film. “I haven’t had a movie release in about a year, so like everyone else I’m also looking forward to it. My character Maya in ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ is complex. I hope everyone appreciates the film and my work because so much hard work has gone into making the film.”

She’s currently shooting for Siddharth Anand’s untitled film with Saif Ali Khan, besides spending quality time with her family (especially Mishti) and doing up her new house in Juhu. “It’s going to take a while before that’s ready,” she says before rushing off.
