Bipasha Basu is all set to cast her spell on Hollywood. The actress has reportedly been offered two films by reputed studios in Los Angeles. Confirming the news, Bipasha’s international manager, Simone Sheffield, says, “Yes, Bipasha Basu is doing not one but two good films, which were offered by prominent Hollywood Studios. Besides the two ventures, she also has an offer on the table that she practically zeroed in on. But, the only thing that’s pending is the casting of the male lead of the film. The specifics will be announced only once the contracts are signed.” Sheffield refused to divulge details about the international films offered to Bipasha.

Our sources also revealed that that the makers of the famous series, Lost, are keen to cast Bipasha in their future episodes. In fact, they had approached her earlier too, but she was not keen to be part of it. When asked about it, Simone said, “Till we sign the contract, I cannot say anything. It is too premature.”

Ever since Bipasha made her presence felt at the announcement ceremony of New Seven Wonders of the World event in Lisbon, she has garnered a lot of attention. And, it is after that event that she appointed Simone Sheffield as her official international manager.

The much-in-the-news Bipasha-John pair is very much together. Though the duo refuses to comment on the relationship, Bipasha Basu confirmed they have come together for a sizzling item song in Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking.

“I don’t think I want to talk about my personal life any more. What’s happening there is for me to know. But, yes, John and I have come together professionally again after Dhan Dhana Dhan… Goal, this time with an item song in Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking,” Bipasha told IANS.

But, it wasn’t the presence of John Abraham that made her accept the song. “Certainly not! It was Vishal Bharadwaj, the man who gave me two of my best item numbers - Beedi and Namak in Omkara. He told me about the item song in No Smoking at an awards function in Yorkshire. After what the Omkara numbers did to my stage presence, I promptly said ‘yes’ to Vishal.”

What about the danger of being branded an item girl? “When have I cared about my image?” Bipasha shrugged. “And, besides I’ve full faith in the intelligence of the film industry, also my audiences. By now they know what I’m capable of, and it’s not just items.”

Bipasha is now looking forward to shaking a leg with John. “Though we’ve done songs before, John and I have never done this kind of sizzling number before. Vishal has pulled out all stops in the composition.” Bipasha is sure the number will be a rage. “John and I will have fun dancing to it. I love the tune. Hopefully, it’ll be another number to bring the house down at my stage concerts.”

Recently Bipasha Basu was seen shooting for a Clinic shampoo ad, not with John this time, but with a new model, Hemant Shivdasani. And guess who was giving Bips company while this ad was being shot? None other than good friend Saif Ali Khan. Says a source, “Bipasha was shooting the ad with Hemant Shivdasani when Saif dropped in to say ‘hello’ to Bipasha.”

Adds the source, “They were shooting for this commercial at David Sassoon Library in Kala Ghoda. The shoot was scheduled to start by 10.30 pm. Saif dropped in soon after. He hung around for a while on the sets. It was quite surprising to see Saif on the sets. He left after a while. But the story doesn’t end here. After the shooting was over, Bipasha and friends went to a nearby hotel to chill out. And Saif joined them there again.”

Bipasha and Saif were earlier spotted together enjoying a drink at China House, working out together at the gym and now Saif gives Bipasha a surprise visit. What are good friends for? Right Bips!

When contacted, Hemant Shivdasani (who has been seen with Aamir Khan in a car commercial, DLF and Bajaj Platina commercials) said, “Working with Bipasha was a great experience.” About replacing John from the previous commercial, he said, “I don’t think this is the same commercial. John and Bipasha shot for the shampoo ads, while Bipasha and my ads are for the sachets. It’s a completely different ad.”

When questioned about Saif’s visit to the sets, Hemant refused to comment and simply hung up.

The girl is stealing a lot of hearts these days. Hence, it comes as no surprise when we are told that actress Bipasha Basu wants to be a thief. She wants to be a real-life robber and not confine herself to celluloid space. All thanks to musician Bappi Lahiri. “He is such an amazing person,” Bips tells us, “And, every time I see him, I want to rob him of his jewellery. He wears such lovely gold jewellery; it’s full of these little Gods, and that’s something about him that I absolutely love.” Knowing Bips and her dedicated nature, Bappida sure has reasons to be careful.

Bipasha Basu is getting bigger. If the current event of things is anything to go by, than, the sultry actress is flying high. Though she may have grabbed eyeballs for her cosy pictures with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo in a Lisbon nightclub, all the fame is now translating into concrete stuff. Simone Sheffield, Aishwarya Rai’s manager for international projects, has now taken up Bipasha’s work too. She will be handling all works and meetings of the actress in Hollywood. “Yes, from now on, I will be representing Bipasha in the international market. There are already lots of meetings lined up for Bipasha. She’s got a bright prospect here. With her kind of striking looks and demeanor to go with it, there’s no doubt that Bipasha has enough potential here,” says Simone.

Of late, Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has been making more news for her private life than her professional one. But, while her personal life may be facing the pangs of uncertainty, the sexy actress is very confident about her professional moves. She is all set to act in an art movie, a first for the actress. Titled Pankh, the film is being produced by Sanjay Gupta’s new production house. And while Bipasha is reluctant to divulge details, an insider tells us that the topic is pretty controversial in nature. From playing the sultry seductress in Jism to doing an art film, the Bong babe’s certainly come a long way.

If Bipasha Basu has kept quiet about the gathering rumours in her personal life, it’s because she didn’t want to react to what were clearly vicious attempts to cause a breach in her relationship with John.

Bipasha has taken a conscious decision to remain characteristically dignified and uncharacteristically quiet. She says, “I was shooting outside Mumbai. And it was so peaceful and nourishing to breathe in unpolluted air… I told my best friend Susie, I’d rather not come back. But there’s no point in pretending the ugly talk isn’t there. John spoke on behalf of both of us yesterday. I’m hoping it would stop this crazy chaos of idle gossip. I’m really tired of all this. It doesn’t effect either of us, or our relationship. But I’m tired of being scrutinised all the time.”

Bipasha has decided she won’t react to any of the things being written and said about her relationship with John. She says, “It’s so foolish and self-defeating to keep reacting to these periodic talks of links and breaks-ups. Today we’re being linked with particular people. Tomorrow it’ll be someone else. We can’t let these things affect us. And we don’t. But this time the rumours got really mean. I can take it, even answer back. But John isn’t comfortable being attacked.”

In fact, Bipasha now joins John in Pondicherry where he’s shooting for Nagesh Kukunoor’s Aashaayen. “Neither of us is going to be unprofessional, leave our work and go running to one another just because people are spreading these strange rumours. Poor John, he’s shooting a very difficult author-backed role. If he suggests he’s taking off to meet me, Nagesh will probably have a fit. I too have my professional commitments. I can’t just tell Abbas and Mustan to give me a day off from the shooting of Race.”

Bipasha joins John in Pondicherry on June 27. “And that isn’t meant to stop wagging tongues. We don’t have to prove anything to anybody. Let them say what they want. I love only John, and no one else,” she says.

Bipasha Basu can suddenly see the world much better! The sultry but short-sighted actress who for years has avoided hosting any show or event because she can’t read the tele-prompter, has got herself fitted with contact lenses. And her reason for doing so? “History beckons me! I have been given the honour of hosting the official declaration ceremony for the New 7 Wonders Of The World in Lisbon on July 7,” said an excited Bips. “So, I’ve got myself contact lenses. All these years I stubbornly resisted them and risked losing friends after looking through them in public. But now that I will be hosting this event with the likes of Ben Kingsley and Hillary Swank, and at which Jennifer Lopez will be performing, I’d be foolish not to correct my eyesight. I can see everything so clearly now!”

This is indeed a historic honour for her, and also Bollywood and the country. Bipasha exclaimed, “I don’t know what made them choose me, maybe it was my appearance at Cannes last month. But I’m deeply honoured and flattered. This is the first time that the 7 Wonders are being reconsidered. To be part of this is to be part of history. And I wouldn’t have missed it for anything in world, certainly not for being short-sighted.”

She will be dressed for the occasion by her favourite designers. “It would be my friend Rocky S for the Indian outfit, and that’s a saree. Armani will do my western outfit,” Bipasha said, looking gorgeous enough to be the 8th Wonder of the World.

Bipasha Basu experienced some unpleasant incidents during her stay in London where they were shooting for Vivek Agnihotri’s Goal.

Says a source from the sets, “Bipasha was shooting a scene in a room inside a studio. There was a crowd of NRIs watching the shoot. At one point an NRI walked in and pinched her bottom. Vivek, who was watching the shot on his monitor in another room, was shocked to see this on his screen. Bipasha was shocked too, and she screamed. John, who was around, pulled the guy by his neck and threw him out of the room.”

But that was not the end of Bips’ troubles. She encountered the guy again on a different occasion and location, later. “We were shooting outdoors, on a street, when suddenly we saw a huge crowd coming towards the shooting scene. The guy who had misbehaved earlier was actually seen headed towards Bipasha once again. Bipasha had no option but to run from the sets. It was an important shot but we couldn’t shoot it the way we had planned, and had to leave the location!” says the source.

In another incident the security on the sets of Goal tried to stop some NRIs who came in their sports car, from entering the premises. In response, they rammed their car into the security personnel injuring them badly. “They were furious at not being let in,” reveals the source.

Adds the source, “When we told them that we’d call the cops, they simply laughed and made rude remarks.”

When contacted, Vivek Agnihotri said, “There were unfortunate incidents that happened during our shooting schedule in London and Glassy Junction. Bipasha and the cast did face some trouble but we finally finished our shoot. I am a very strong-headed person and so is my team, so all these incidents did not deter us from completing our shoot.”
