The song required Amrita Arora to lean on to brother-in-law and co-star Arbaaz Khan, as part of the choreographed steps. Arbaaz was supposed to move ahead later, but he mistimed his step and ran forward while Amrita was still leaning on him. This caused Amrita to fall on her knees.

Confirming the incident Amrita said, “I seriously injured both my knees. The pain was unbearable for me, but the entire incident turned out to be hilarious for the 200-odd junior artistes, unit members and Sohail (Khan) who could not control his laughter.”

“Wicked that he is he kept rewinding to my terrible fall on the monitor just for everyone to watch and tease me. When I watched it I too could not control my laughter. The entire incident appeared like a comedy scene from a film,” added Amrita.

However, things weren’t so funny after half an hour when Amrita’s knees turned black and blue. A doctor had to be called on the sets and she had to take a tetanus injection to prevent infection.

While everyone’s raising eyebrows at Kareena Kapoor’s so-called anorexic look (which is basically just a weight-loss program for her look in Tashan), her best buddy, Amrita Arora is following suit. She’s got a hotbod anyways, but for the multi-starrer (Salman, Sohail, Preity, Sunny, Bobby) Mera Bharat Mahaan, she needs to knock-off a few more kilos. “It’s true that I am losing some weight for this film, but I am not going on a crash diet or anything. This time I am doing a lot of yoga and toning up. That will work wonders for me,” says Amrita. Well, you can lose as many kilos as you want gal, as long as you add some zing to your on screen persona.

Rumours of trouble in Amrita Arora’s love life were flying fast and furious. But all seems well in lovers’ paradise. In fact, the gal doesn’t even wish to comment on such idle talk, she’d rather spend that time doing better things. Like romancing her beau Usman Afsal. “I am off to London for a week; I haven’t met Usman in four months. I was shooting for Hello, but they don’t need my dates for the next one week. This is the best time for me to scoot off. A long distance relationship gets really tough at times, so we have to take extra effort to keep it going,” says Amrita. Well, every story has a khatti-meethi angle.

Amrita Arora has a new job that too at a call center. She works night shifts and sleeps through the day. Amrita is playing one of the leading roles in Hello (the film has been adapted from Chetan Bhagat’s book One Night @ the Call Center). “It’s really weird, I really feel like I am going to office. I head out in the night, shoot in an office space. And I dress like an office-goer too. I guess it’s the closest I will be to corporate life,” says Amrita.

All actors make mistakes. Sometimes they do films or worse, say things that they regret later. Sexy belle Amrita Arora too admits that her cool, candid tongue has made some hot quotes in the past that it shouldn’t have. “Like many others I have made some wrong choices and said the wrong things, but I am naive and childish at times. I’ve grown up a lot in the last few years, and at this stage I won’t make stupid comments and talk through my hat, which is something I’ve done earlier. Now I am using more of head and less of the heart.” Well gal, everyone will miss that extra bit of sensation though. What say guys?

While most beauties fuss and fume on being compared to other beauties, the sexy Amrita Arora has quite a different take on that. Recently, she was compared to Hollywood teenage heartthrob, Lindsay Lohan; apparently the two bear a striking resemblance. While we expected an – “I don’t want to be the next Lindsay Lohan,” kinda cliched reply from Amrita, she surprised us by saying , “Well, if people see a resemblance, I am not complaining. I am only being compared to someone gorgeous, so I’m fine with it.” Well, we wonder what the Lindsay lass will say on seeing our desi belle. Any idea, Amrita?

When you’re in love, it shows! And in the Amrita Arora-Usmaan Afzal relationship, actions certainly speak louder than words! The actor, who is currently in London threw a surprise birthday bash for her cricketer boyfriend Usmaan at a posh hotel in central London on Thursday. But the surprise was only the beginning…

Things livened up even more when co-hosts of the party Salman (looking great in his new hairdo) and Zayed Khan trooped in with a bunch of friends. Zayed and wife Malaika Khan were late, but we heard Zayed had taken parents Sanjay and Zarine Khan for a dinner to an Italian joint after picking them up from the airport, the doting son that he is! Malaika, on the other hand, met a school pal after years, and the two had a blast catching up.

Amrita, who wore a sixties polka dot dress, played the perfect hostess to the guests that also included Nandita Mahtani, Neelam, Sohail and Seema Khan and Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur. An unusual guest was cricketer Ashish Nehra. The conversation mostly revolved around football, with plans being made to watch the games together. The party then moved on to another hip club, and went on and on and on…

After four years in Bollywood, Amrita Arora finally seems to have found her bearings in Bollywood. She’s got four films in her kitty right now – Vikram Bhatt directed ‘Red’ and ‘Speed’, a BMG-Crescendo produced lover-story opposite R Madhavan and Hansal Mehta’s ‘Raakh’.

“People’s perception of me has changed after Mahesh Manjrekar’s ‘Deh’, where I play a 21-year-old opposite a 40-year-old man. Mahesh took me to another level, but I still have a long way to go,” says the actor.

Interestingly, working towards becoming heroine number one isn’t Amrita’s main priority. “I want to be appreciated for whatever work I do. If along the way I reach the top, then great!” she says nonchalantly. She admits to becoming more diplomatic. “I have learnt to keep my mouth shut, but I’ve never been a negative person. So most of the time I am very cheerful,” she says.
Currently dating English county cricketer Usman Afzal, Amrita is not known to hide her boyfriends. Is it difficult to keep the romance alive in a long distance relationship? “He plays at different places. I’m also busy shooting… just as I have had to work at being a better daughter and sister, similarly I have to work at being a good girlfriend.”

So that must involve watching more cricket, right? “I never liked cricket although Malaika (Arora-Khan, her sister) does. I watch the match when Usman is batting or bowling,” she informs.

Amrita recently turned down an offer to act in a film with her brother-in-law Arbaaz Khan (Malaika’s husband) because it required her to do intimate scenes with him. “I backed out because I was told those scenes were very important to the film. Sadly, I was not informed about this fact earlier,” she signs off.
