Abhishek Bachchan on phones, films and fun

Abhishek BachchanLooking relaxed and chic in an upturned collar jacket, Abhishek Bachchan was at his charming best at the announcement of the actor as brand ambassador for Motorola phones. Though his interaction with select media was brief, here’s what Bachchan had to say about phones, films and spoofs before heading back to Chennai to resume shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Guru: On his first phone: “Dad gifted me a Motorola 12 years ago when I was in college so I have an emotional connect with the brand.” On his current phone: “Motorola V3 and L7. I like the charcoal colour the best but I am going to gift the pink one to my sister.

I’ve also just been given sunglasses with a cell phone attachment, but since I can’t wear those in the dark, I can’t use them all day.” He uses the phone to: “Play games on, listen to iTunes (I already have 50 songs downloaded) besides the obvious uses.” On his current projects: “I’ve been busy shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Guru for two months and have anther month to go.” On MTV spoofing Dhoom as Ghoom: “Have they? I have not seen it! I must.” On being called Abhishek Bachao in Ghoom: “Is that what they have called me? Well, I get that a lot: ‘Abshishek…. bachao…!” On attending IIFA and the premiere of Provoked starring Aishwary Rai in Dubai: “Is it premiering there? Ok. I am only taking a day off from Guru to attend IIFA on the last day.” Coming up: “Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna in August and J P Dutta’s Umrao Jaan will be my next releases.” He’s also got Dhoom 2 and Shaad Ali’s Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, besides Guru (co-starring Aishwarya Rai).
